Honda Genuine 08200-9007 Dual Pump II Differential Fluid

I used this to change the transmission fluid in my grandma's 2015 Honda CRV. You can get cheaper versions but I wanted the OEM so I didn't have to worry about it. This was a simple spill and fill until the upper hole has fluid coming out of it. It is important to note that if you are doing this, I put close to the fluid capacity in and THEN opened up the upper bolt. I slowly filled it until it began draining out of the upper hole. If you just fill it with the upper bolt out, it will immediately drain out. Trying to save someone the time and product.

I was getting a nasty vibration/rumbing & groan from my Honda Element AWD when either making tight turns, or backing out of parking lot spaces. I was afraid it drivetrain/powertrain related & that there was an issue with the transmission or differential. The fluid only had about 30,000 miles on it, which apparently is too much/the change interval according to Element Owners Club forums. I figured I'd spend $30-40 on 2 bottles of genuine Honda Dual Pump differential fluid, a fluid transfer pump & 20 minutes of my time to see if the problem goes away before taking it to a shop & possibly being told I need a new transmission or differential.After using a 3/8" ratchet head (with no socket attached) in the drain plug, while it the old fluid was draining, I undid the fill plug, drained all the fluid and replaced the drain plug to torque spec as per Service manual says: 47 N.m (4.8 kgf.m, 35 lbf.ft). I pumped & filled 1.1 qt of Honda Genuine 08200-9007 Dual Pump II Differential Fluid with a fluid transfer pump with a long vinyl tube into the fill hole until it was full and started to trickle out the top fill hole. Torqued back down the fill plug, double checked the drain plug and was done.Whole job start to finished took about 20-30 minutes incl gathering tools, drain pan, cleaning up, etc. I didn't need to jack up the car and just crawled under there and reached my arm to the drain and fill plugs. It would have been a bit easier if I had jacked it up and placed it on jack stands, but not absolutely necessary. Took it for a test drive & have driven a couple hundred miles since and the groan & rumbling is gone.Now that I know the factory dual pump fluid doesn't last 30k mi, I am going to make a habit of changing it every 20-25k mi as part of my regular maintenance. I will also use this interval for the transmission fluid as its cheaper to regularly change fluids than to stretch intervals and possibly cause damage to expensive drivetrain components like the transmission or differential. Plus the change is super easy on Hondas anyway, so why wouldn't you do it!I haven't been able to find an acceptable aftermarket alternative at the local auto part stores, & at only $13/quart, why wouldn't you go factory fluid fill? You need 1.1 quart to drain & fill the differential on a Honda Element, so buy 2 quarts & a fluid transfer pump.

Genuine Product and Much cheaper here than dealer

Product works great! I prefer OEM honda fluids for things like my transmission, or in this case, diff fluid. Acura (a company owned by Honda) makes cheaper BUT THE SAME fluid as this. Only reason why I chose Honda over Acura is simply that I was unable to find two of these containers for a reasonable price by Acura, unless you bought several quarts worth (and I only needed 1&1/3 quarts). And lastly, something minor is that there was slight scratches on one of the containers. But the container did come sealed and has worked perfectly.

Needed this for my 2002 Honda CR-V. It was much cheaper buying it here compared to the dealership. The color of the fluid is clear and I think it matches the same OEM fluid that my differential held.
